Jesse Smith is originally from the Newton-Conover area of North Carolina. He and his wife, Camille, became sweethearts in high school. After high school, Jesse served in the US Army for three years as a Supply Specialist in an Artillery Unit. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Camille came to visit him often and their love for each other grew, despite the 3,000 miles of distance between them.

It was during this time of serving in the Army that Jesse stumbled onto grace and first trusted in Jesus. Two weeks before September 11th, Jesse was honorably discharged from the military and on September 22nd of that same year Jesse and Camille were married. From the time he became a Christian, Jesse felt called to pursue ordination as an Elder in the United Methodist Church. He has studied at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (BA Religious Studies/History), John Wesley College (BA Christian Ministries, Youth), and most recently at Hood Theological Seminary (MA Divinity). Camille also has her Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate.

Jesse and Camille have two sons, Isaiah (8) and Elijah (2). While the boys keep them pretty busy in their day to day lives, Jesse also enjoys running, writing poetry and listening to live music. Jesse and Camille have had the opportunity to start two new United Methodist Churches in the Western North Carolina Conference and are excited about joining the team of Huntersville United Methodist Church to serve as an Associate Pastor.
