What is worship like at Huntersville UMC?  Will I feel comfortable and welcome there?

  • Our 8:30 worship service is more “traditional” in that we sing hymns with piano accompaniment and follow a pattern of worship that include responsive readings, creeds, and other traditional elements.  You will be greeted warmly as you enter and find a place of welcome and hospitality.  Coffee is available in the lobby.  Our atmosphere is more informal and relaxed, with times of greeting included that encourage all to be friends in faith.  The Sacrament of Holy Communion is generally offered on the first Sunday of each month.
  • Our 10:30 worship service is designed to be more “modern” in tone and structure.  More modern songs and some hymns are sung with guitar, drum, and keyboard accompaniment.  There is a children’s time.  During the service, children are invited to go to “Wiggle Worship”, an active, engaging time for children who learn and grow in spirit with a little more movement.

The service, which usually lasts about an hour, is composed of prayers, songs, an offering time, and a sermon that is designed to speak to the heart a word of encouragement and challenge!  With lots of young families present, this service connects all age groups to God and to each other.  The same warm welcome awaits you as you enter.  We encourage you to have a cup of coffee and share in conversation with others.  We feel this is a good time to “create authentic Christian community.”  The Sacrament of Holy Communion is generally offered on the first Sunday of each month.  Baptism is offered and is open to all ages from children to adults who haven’t been Baptized and to children who are receiving this expression of God’s grace in infancy.
